Need Administrative status on comp to install!!!

I need help ASAP fellas! I need my laptop at work to be changed to an "administrative" account. My boss and guys at work have no idea, nor do I, on how to do it.

A couple of the programs we use during the day must run on flash player 9 and Internet Explorer 7.0....and I cant download either until I get administrative status!

You running vista? It likes to scare you a little with this sort of rubbish... if you only have one account on your computer then it is an administrative account already.
You can see this in profiles and I think its some bug in vista although it also happens from time to with XP.
Best advice i can give you is to turn the laptop off and then turn on again going straight to download or install the programs without doing anything else first.
